Thursday, 10^th November 2011.  Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad  (Brunei LNG) today held a Distribution of ‘Korban’ Meats event at the Brunei LNG Restaurant.  The  event was held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidil Adha 1432 Hijriah.  A total of 3 cows were scarified at the Mulaut Abattoir, where a total  21 employees  from Brunei LNG and Refinery participated in this year’s Korban. The meats were distributed to underprivileged residents around Liang Lumut area and Muslim employees. In addition to the distribution of the meat, the event also featured Takbir Hari Raya.

The event is hoped to strengthen social relation between staff and the community and at the same time bring them together in a spirit of community. Moreover it is aimed to  emphasise the duty of all  Muslims to help and support the less fortunate and underprivileged people. The sacrificial meats were handed over by the Managing Director/CEO of Brunei LNG, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Salleh Bostaman bin Awang Haji Zainal Abidin.

Today’s ceremony was held for the first time  by “ Badan Pekerja- Pekerja Islam “ (BPPI ) as part of their religious activity to commemorate the Islamic festive celebration of Aidil Adha.  Besides Korban ceremony, Brunei LNG  through BPPI also celebrates other religious events such as Khatam Al-Qur’an, Israk Mikraj Celebration, Forum Perdana, Donation to Orphans and Mauludirrasul celebration.
